What are Professional Development Forums?
Our Forums invite members, municipal professionals, subject matter experts, experienced sector practitioners, leading academics, public and private sector professionals to come together to explore sector and role-specific issues and trends. They are a great way to connect with professionals from across Ontario to learn and hear practical takeaways from subject matter experts.
Forums consist of multiple speaker sessions throughout the day, on a variety of topics related to the event's core audience. You will hear from municipal professionals with years of experience, key thought leaders in the sector, and more.
Not sure which Forum to attend? Below are the key subject areas covered in each of the Forums:
- Municipal Clerks Forum (policy, administration, FOI, HR)
- Municipal Information, Access & Privacy Forum (FOI, records management, tech, data access)
- Municipal Leaders Forum (senior management challenges, team building, leadership skills, HR)
- Municipal Finance Forum (budget planning, HR, asset management)
- Municipal Licensing and Law Enforcement Forum (case law, property standards, bylaws, regulation and enforcement)
Interested in attending?
AMCTO offers eight (8) free student passes per forum, on a first-come, first-served basis. Requests must be made at least 14 days (two weeks) before the event date to qualify for this offer.
Student members can apply for one (1) pass to attend one (1) PD Forum of their choice. This offer applies exclusively to attending virtually (some forums are held as in-person hybrid events). We will do our best to register you in your first choice, but please do provide a backup choice. Specific Forum details will be available on our website each Spring and Fall.
What do you get if selected?
If selected, a member of our team will reach out to confirm your attendance. Upon your written reply and confirmation, you will receive your Zoom login details for the event. We suggest putting a reminder with the login details in your calendar.
