The highly successful AMCTO Staff-Council Relations Training is back by popular demand with delivery starting in November 2022!

 

Through staff changes during the pandemic, to increasing retirements and changes to your council following the 2022 municipal elections, we want you to feel prepared in orienting a new team and delivering on your community programs and initiatives!

 

The AMCTO Staff-Council Relations training is beneficial to both new and returning council members as well as municipal staff. Participants will learn how to:

  • Break down barriers between team members and departments
  • Understand the different roles and responsibilities of staff and councillors
  • Develop strategies to strengthen relationships and work collaboratively to enhance service delivery
  • Address challenges and opportunities that may arise during the 2022-2026 term
  • Work effectively as a team over the next four years to produce tangible results
  • As a trusted provider of this training, we want to help you ensure the relationship between your staff and council starts off right - something that is critical to a municipality’s success! Training workshops will be offered both in-person and virtually and can be customized to meet the unique needs of your municipality.

About the Instructor

Rob Adams is a passionate and innovative leader who uses outside-the-box thinking to leverage success. Rob is a Chief Administrative Officer with experience on the council-side having served as a Mayor and Warden. Rob is also a proven business executive having ran operations for Canada’s largest digital signage software company where he achieved the Profit 100 Canada's Fastest Growing Companies ranking two years in a row. Rob is currently the Chief Administrative Officer of the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville - the 2nd fastest growing municipality in Ontario.

 

Rob's session on staff-council relations presented with Kyle Pratt, MPA, CMM III, CHRL, CMO (Chief Administrative Officer at the Town of Tillsonburg) at the 2022 AMCTO conference was ranked one of the top rated sessions at the event.
