On November 13th 2020, the Province announced that it would be updating its threshold levels and advice within the COVID-19 Response Framework in response to updated modelling.
If the current case trajectory continues, according to the modelling, Ontario would see up to 6,500 new cases per day by mid-December. In addition, the new threhold levels moves Halton Region and Hamilton into the Red Control level, joining York Region and Peel Region. Several Public Health Units also moved into Orange-Restrict levels. These classifications will take effect on Monday, November 16th. The City of Toronto will also join the Framework as of November 14th in the Red-Control level.
Those in the Red-Control level are encourage to limit trips outside home except for essential reasons, work remotely where possible, avoid visiting other homes and social gatherings.
The original framework released on November 6th 2020, keeps schools open and businesses open where possible. The framework is also based on a regional approach wherein local public health units can allocate resources where they are needed and address circumstances in their communities; municipalities and local medial officers of health can impose additional restrictions or requirements.
