Richard graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1990 and obtained his Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in 1991. He became a partner with the Peterborough office of Humpage Taylor Mc Donald (now Baker Tilly KDN) in 1997. Richard started municipal auditing in 1986 and has been involved mainly in municipal audits since.
With his colleague Joanna Park, they are partners for many Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB) audit clients from the Peterborough office of Baker Tilly KDN. This list currently includes 39 municipal, four First Nation, and three school board audits.
