Marilyn has been active in politics since 2000 when she put her name on the ballot for trustee of the Durham District School Board. Marilyn was a member of the Ontario School Boards Association for 10 years representing trustees and school boards at the provincial level and was eventually elected as the chair of the board in her last two years as a trustee.
In 2010, she ran for local council in Ajax and has served in this position for two terms. During these terms, she was part of the Recreation and Culture Advisory Committee, Transportation Advisory Committee, Library Board, Ajax Municipal Housing Board, and Pickering Village BIA.
Marilyn is a mother of two and grandmother of one and is a strong supporter of local active school travel initiatives. She has a personal interest in an active lifestyle through activities like walking, running, biking, hiking, and CrossFit.
