Clayton is a seasoned finance professional with a strong track record in policy development, financial planning, asset management, and revenue optimization. Skilled in driving innovation and strategic execution, Clayton excels in leading complex financial portfolios with expertise and precision.
Currently serving as the deputy city treasurer/director of revenue services for the City of Hamilton, Clayton oversees property tax revenue collection, utility billing, and vacant unit tax administration, developing revenue strategies to ensure compliance and maximize city revenue.
Before this position, Clayton served as the deputy treasurer for budgets and financial planning at the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville, where he played a key role in developing the Town’s annual budgets, managing long-term financial plans, advising council and leadership. He also led the implementation of a multi-year service-based budget and was recognized as an innovator by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for three consecutive years.
