Minimum Qualifications:

  • Post secondary degree in public relations, business administration, public administration, community or social services or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five years of leadership experience in similar role delivering community services.
  • Strong knowledge of community service delivery including accessibility, public transportation, community safety and wellbeing, and capital campaign fundraising.
  • Proven leadership skills that foster a strong sense of team, collaboration, creativity and independence.
  • Experience working with people of diverse economic, age and cultural backgrounds and marginalized individuals, with an understanding of cultural competency and social determinants of health.
  • Ability to achieve successful outcomes in a complex setting with diverse perspectives while leading sensitive initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario municipal processes and service delivery, and of federal and provincial programs and policies.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively lead meetings, trainings and to prepare and publicly present reports.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization and analytical skills; resourceful, creative and an innovative problem solver.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, good judgement, diplomacy and an ability to maintain confidentiality are essential.

Assets:

  •         Additional training in the areas of leadership.

Duties:

  • Lead and innovate the Community Outreach division and oversee the following teams: Accessibility and Inclusion, Community Safety and Wellbeing, Capital Campaign Fundraising and Public Transportation.
  • Provide strong leadership to multiple small teams to achieve key strategic priorities through the implementation of approved strategies, workplans, and special projects.
  • Monitor and evaluate service outcomes, utilizing data-driven approaches while measuring quality improvement, and identifying risk management initiatives.
  • Identify current trends, research, and best practices, incorporating this knowledge into program development, service delivery and internal policies and procedures.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and implement the annual division budget.
  • Monitor and manage service delivery within allocated budgets.
  • Lead and facilitate effective meetings and trainings. Prepare and present reports to Senior Management and Council.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements as related to Accessibility, Public Transportation, Community Safety and Wellbeing and Capital Campaign Fundraising.
  • Build and maintain credibility and trust with internal and external stakeholders, departments and organizations across the County.
  • Other duties as assigned by the General Manager of Strategic Initiatives.

Annual Salary Range - $112,986 – $132,178 as of April 1, 2025 (Job Grade 11 Under Review) 35 hours per week.
