Conference Social Events

Capacity for all social activities is limited. The social activities indicated below are included free with full delegate registrations, as well as companions/retired member packages. The Gala Dinner and Reception is included free with full delegate registration (Gala dinner option) and companions/retired members packages only. Social event tickets are available for purchase to other registered delegates and to non-registered guests, but for social events where space is limited, registered delegates and companions will be given priority.

Treetop Trekking
Timing: 3 Hours
Deerhurst Resort’s treetop challenge courses are made of innovative games like suspended bridges, Tarzan swings, monkey cables and balance logs, and of course lots of zip lines to get your adrenaline pumping! All of our parks have a wide range of courses ranging in difficulty from beginner to expert so there is sure to be something for everyone in the group.

AMCTO Golf Tournament - Deerhurst Lakeside Golf Course
With sweeping views of the lake, a challenging layout, and meticulous grooming from tee to green, it is evident why Deerhurst Lakeside has gained a reputation as a fair, fun and challenging course for players of all skill levels. The course was redesigned by Thomas McBroom in 1988, making Deerhurst Lakeside into one of Canada’s truly unique resort courses. The front 9 sweeps around Sunset Bay before making its way to the back nine, which gives way to picturesque views of the surrounding countryside as well as Peninsula Lake. True to the Muskoka landscape, you will find yourself hitting from elevated tees, approaching slick undulating greens from deep valleys, while being challenged by strategic water hazards and deep bunkers.

Enjoy a great outdoor evening along the beach at the Deerhurst Waterfront, with food, fun and friends. Enjoy delicious BBQ while participating in or cheering on the kayak races, and playing fun beach games.

Kayak Races
As part of the Beach BBQ, participants will be able to sign up for a team kayak racing event (3 ppl per team), an exciting event that is sure to entertain the crowd as the group cheers on their chosen team to win the Kayak Race of the afternoon!

Morning Yoga Class
Monday, June 10th & Tuesday, June 11th from 6:15 am to 7:15 am
Timing: 60 Minutes
Cost: Free
A Professional Yoga Instructor will lead you through Yoga poses and stretches for this class.
Inclusions: Certified Yoga Instructor, towels, mats.

Escape Cabin
In your teams you will use teamwork to solve the puzzles and problems to free yourself and your group from the cabin. The cabin has something to challenge and engage everyone within the team.

Followed by…

Guided Hike
You will enjoy a 60 minute casual hike through tight trails with beautiful surroundings. Your guide will interpret the local wildlife, flora and fauna and take you to the LOOKOUT. A camera is a must as the view from the top is spectacular.

You will be taken on a 60 minute Pontoon boat cruise around Peninsula Lake, followed by a tour & tastings at 2 local Muskoka breweries.

Policies (Deerhurst Resort)

Reservations must be cancelled or shortened by 4pm local time 7-days prior to the arrival date to avoid penalties.

One nights room, resort fee and tax deposit is required at time of reservation with the balance of your stay due 7-days prior to your arrival date.

For any reservations that require shared status of 2 or more persons in a unit (room or condo), that require split billing, please note that all names in the unit must be given upon initial reservation along with credit card information given for the individual making the reservation. All person sharing will be provided with their own reservation number, and all must call in with their own reservation number and provide their credit card information for required deposits.

Hospice Huntsville

AMCTO is proud to provide the opportunity at each annual conference for a worthy local charity to receive profile and be the recipient of donations. This year the Conference Coordinating Committee has selected Hospice Huntsville.

Hospice Huntsville provides care and support to individuals in the Huntsville area who are facing end of life situations. This care and support is also extended to their families and caregivers and is provided in the setting of their choice. All services and programs of Hospice Huntsville are completely free of charge to those we serve and their families.
