MPPs today returned to Queen’s Park after a five-month summer break. Last week, House Leader Paul Calandra outlined the government’s legislative priorities for the next legislative session that is scheduled to go until December 12th.

Calandra says the government will be focusing on jobs and economic growth, specifically looking to pass legislation relating to mental health, civil service pay caps, the fall economic statement (due to be tabled on November 6th), and animal welfare.

Opposition Leader Andrea Horwath meanwhile called on the government to prioritize hospitals and schools and Green Party Leader Mike Schreiner wishes to see a “clean and caring economy” and job creation across various sectors.
