Applications for Connecting Links Program Open

2019-10-04 1:52:07 PM

Ontario’s Minister of Transportation, Caroline Mulroney, earlier this week announced that the Ontario Government has opened applications for the next round of the Connecting Links program for new projects in eligible municipalities starting in spring 2020.

The Connecting Links program is designed to assist eligible municipalities in repairing municipal roads or bridges connecting two ends of a provincial highway through a community or to a border crossing. The program will cover up to 90 percent of eligible project costs to a maximum of $3 million. Eligible costs include the design, construction, renewal, rehabilitation, and replacement of connecting links.

The province will assess each application based on technical need and safety considerations, including bridge and road condition, need for repair in the short term, and overall cost effectiveness.

Applications for the program are due by November 22, 2019.
