AMCTO has made a submission to the Standing Committee on Heritage, Infrastructure and Cultural Policy regarding Bill 23, More Homes Built Faster Act, 2022. Our response is focused on the Bill’s impacts to municipal financial sustainability and the impacts to municipal processes and administration.

The submission emphasizes that sweeping changes with impacts to municipal budgets and local processes should be made in partnership with local governments in order to deliver on shared municipal-provincial priorities.

The Standing Committee is now considering amendments to Bill 23 before it goes to third reading in the legislature. We will continue to monitor the Bill for impacts to our members.
