On Tuesday November 27, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission is hosting a free webinar for municipal staff that will focus on issues surrounding the municipal regulatory and operational responsibilities in the privately run cannabis retail sector. 

This webinar will take place from 1:00 – 2:00 PM and cover the following subjects related to cannabis: 

• Timelines and general information on the legislation governing cannabis retail stores;

• The AGCO role and the licensing process;

• The process for municipalities choosing to opt in/out of allowing cannabis retail stores in their municipality; and,

• The municipal role and the public notice process

In addition, the AGCO has also provided additional support regarding the Opt in / Opt out decision around allowing retail cannabis stores within your respective municipal jurisdiction.
