Last week Finance Minister Charles Sousa tabled, Bill 144, Budget Measures Act, a new budget implementation bill, which includes a range of commitments previously announced in the most recent provincial budget. Some of the highlights include schedule 7, which will enact a new forfeited corporate property law, schedule 18, which gives the Ontario Securities Commission more regulatory power, schedule 21 that gives the government greater power to investigate and seize contraband tobacco, and schedule 22, which outlines additional sales of government assets.
