Senate to Begin Studying Rules for Self-driving Vehicles

Canada’s federal Minister of Transport Marc Garneau has requested the Senate’s transportation and communications committee to launch a review of the regulatory, policy, and technical implications of self-driving vehicles. The growth of driverless technology in the automotive sector has begun to attract attention from legislators in a number of countries, as the commercial uses of such technology appear to be only a few years away from entering the market.
