During the 2021 ROMA conference today, the Premier announced a $200 million investment for the 2021 Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund (OCIF). Minister of Infrastructure Laurie Scott also announced the funding separately. 

OCIF provides funding to municipalities with populations under 100,000, along with all rural and northern communities for local infrastructure projects.

The Fund is meant to help 424 small, rural and northern communities with critical infrastructure.

In our 2020 Pre-Budget Submision, AMCTO emphasized the need to continue to help municipalities recover and promote fiscal sustainability, calling for a committment to the formula-based OCIF for 2021 and 2022.
