Ontario Consulting on Poverty Reduction Strategy

2020-02-17 4:47:08 PM

The Ontario government has opened consultations on the province’s next poverty reduction strategy.

Organizations and individuals are able to provide their input by writing to prso@ontario.ca or by completing an online survey.

The survey is open until March 30th and can be found here.

Under the Poverty Reduction Act, the government every five years is required to consult and develop a new Poverty Reduction Strategy that will identify goals on reducing poverty, how to measure and report, and prioritizes initiatives across sectors and government levels to bring Ontarians out of poverty.

The government is specifically looking to see how job creation, necessary supports and services, and lowing the cost of living can inform the new strategy.
