The provincial government in Nova Scotia is considering changes to that province’s Municipal Elections Act, designed to make it easier for residents to vote in local government elections. Some of the changes include quicker residency qualifications (currently a person must live in a community for three months to be able to vote there), allowing people to vote without identification, and new rules for disclosing political donations.
