Definition of a Retired Member
To qualify for this membership category you must:
- Have previously been an Association member prior to your retirement
- Be in receipt of a municipal retirement pension or equivalent
- Be fully retired from the work force; or
- Following retirement, employed either directly, or under contract with, a non-municipal employer; or
- Following retirement, employed either directly, or under contract with, a municipal corporation or local board within a service area other than a key service area, for a continuous period of no more than six months.
As of June 7, 2014, an honourary life membership is awarded to any AMCTO member upon their attainment of 50 years of continuous Association membership. Benefits of this membership category include:
- AMCTO membership at a reduced rate ($50 + HST)
- Complete access to all AMCTO programs and services
- The ability to retain any certification held through AMCTO, subject to the approved recertification criteria applicable to all members;
- An annual subscription to the Municipal Monitor magazine;
- Access to AMCTO e-mail member updates, professional development offerings, legislative and policy updates
- The ability to participate in AMCTO Zone activities
- Access to exclusive member resources, special events, partner and Affinity Programs
- Opportunity to give back to the Association as a speaker or mentor
- Option to take part in AMCTO's job broadcast service
