2021 Municipal Clerks Forum

Live Stream Event

About the Forum

The Clerks Forum is the premier professional development event for Ontario municipal clerks looking to build their knowledge, expand their networks and advance their careers. By bringing together expert practitioners, academics and senior leaders, this event helps provide insights and practical strategies for effectively managing the impending challenges and opportunities facing today’s clerk departments.

Date: Tuesday, October 5, 2021
Time: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM ET

Join us to hear from your fellow clerk members on how they’re addressing challenges when it comes to municipal modernization. Hear insights on what’s worked and what hasn’t when it comes to recovery planning, effective service delivery and more.

We are proud to offer this program as a virtual live stream event so that you learn from the comfort of your own home/office!

Who Should Attend:

  • All municipal clerks and staff working in the clerk’s department

Ontario Ombudsman, Paul Dubé

A lawyer by training, Paul Dubé has been Ombudsman of Ontario since 2016. His office takes and resolves more than 20,000 complaints and inquires every year, including about general municipal issues and closed municipal meetings. Prior to this, Mr. Dubé was Canada’s first Taxpayers’ Ombudsman and helped the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) optimize its service to taxpayers. He continues to be actively involved in the ombudsman community, including as president of the North American region of the International Ombudsman Institute.

The Ombudsman makes recommendations to enhance local accountability. For this special keynote presentation, Ombudsman Paul Dubé will discuss best practices for local governance, including tips for holding virtual municipal meetings.
